What you are going to learn:

EmpowerMen Project: Engaging Men and Boys in the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking

Recognizing that men play a critical role in shifting norms that perpetuate exploitation, EmpowerMen creates safe, non-judgmental spaces for dialogue, education, and reflection. Through facilitated workshops, advocacy, research and training. The project also collaborates with survivors, Indigenous leaders, schools, settlement agencies and community advocates to ensure that programming reflects lived experiences and local realities.
By positioning men as partners in prevention, EmpowerMen contributes to a broader movement toward gender equity, safer communities, and the eradication of sexual exploitation in all its forms.

Discussion will include:

  • the role of advocacy to shift norms
  • ensuring culturally safe delivery of information
  • rational in focusing on males
