Following the resounding success of the inaugural gathering in 2024, forensic nurses from across Canada reunited in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for the 2nd Annual Canadian Forensic Nursing Symposium on May 28–29, 2025. Hosted at the historic Bessborough Hotel in partnership with the National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA), this year’s event continued to build momentum for the forensic nursing profession nationwide.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the 2025 Symposium Planning Committee, the CFNA Executive, and all volunteers whose dedication and vision brought this event to life. Special thanks to our keynote speaker, Stephanie Carlson, retired RN/SANE/Coroner, and to presenters including Winston Sayson, K.C., M.G.C., Anele Bekturova, Barbara Whynot, Dr. Daniel Sheridan, and many others whose expertise and passion inspired meaningful dialogue and learning.

With attendees representing a wide range of provinces and territories, this year’s theme—Collaboration, Growth, & Empowerment—was reflected in every session, workshop, and conversation. Thank you to everyone who made this symposium a powerful step forward in advancing forensic nursing in Canada.
