PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION FUND

The Professional Education Fund was established to help aid with accessing continuing education, support global networking and information exchange for forensic nurses. The fund helps provide financial assistance for CFNA members who would not otherwise be able to attend professional development such as workshops, training or conferences.

What is the Professional Education Fund?

The fund is available to assist forensic nurses in gaining professional continuing education through educational events such as training, conferences, workshops or other professional development initiatives for members of the CFNA. The PE Funds are distributed based on financial need. The PE funds need to be used within 12 months.

  • $500 CAD used toward the registration fee for Conferences or Courses in Forensic Nursing Science and Practice
  • $250.00 CAD for workshops/seminars or other forensic nursing educational events
  • $200.00 CAD for workshops/seminars or other forensic nursing educational events

  • Member in good standing with the CFNA
  • Biographical information
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Brief explanation as to how you as a forensic nurse, your practice setting or community and the Association will gain from your attendance and experience at the conference or training

What is required of me after attendance?

  • Provide CFNA with proof of attendance
  • Provide CFNA with receipts for the use of the Professional Education Fund monies.
  • Contribute to sharing with other CFNA members by providing a summary of your experience at the event via a CFNA webinar.
