In 2024, the Canadian Forensic Nurses Association of Canada (CFNA) and the Human Trafficking Health Alliance of Canada (HTHAC) joined to create a working group of healthcare and allied service providers to address human trafficking from a health lens.Today, the CFNA and the HTHAC is launching our Joint Position Statement recognizing the urgent and critical need for health education, health policy and partnerships to aid in prevention, identification and response to human trafficking to ultimately disrupt the cycle of violence and improve the lives of persons who are trafficked.

Who we are

The Canadian Forensic Nurses Association (CFNA) advances forensic nursing in Canada, focusing on standards and issues like violence, trauma, and death investigations. Founded in 2006 and rebranded in 2016, the CFNA has over 147 members, including Sexual Assault Nurses and Coroners.
